According to the Bible, the 6th day of creation was when God created land animals and humans.

Adam and Eve were created on the 8th day and are the first Jewish humans created.  It was a start of a new race.  The 6th day human still existed when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden.  Adam and Eve were created to guide and lead the already existing humans to God’s Way of life and his Will.  However, they fell and thus did not fulfill that role.  They were also created to be the lineage of Jesus who would come to pay the sin penalty and reconcile humans to God.
