\n35 But someone may ask, \u201cHow will the dead be brought back to life again? What kind of bodies will they have?\u201d
\n36 What a foolish question! You will find the answer in your own garden! When you put a seed into the ground it doesn\u2019t grow into a plant unless it \u201cdies\u201d first.
\n37 And when the green shoot comes up out of the seed, it is very different from the seed you first planted. For all you put into the ground is a dry little seed of wheat or whatever it is you are planting,
\n38 then God gives it a beautiful new body\u2014just the kind he wants it to have; a different kind of plant grows from each kind of seed.
\n39 And just as there are different kinds of seeds and plants, so also there are different kinds of flesh. Humans, animals, fish, and birds are all different.
\n40 The angels[d] in heaven have bodies far different from ours, and the beauty and the glory of their bodies is different from the beauty and the glory of ours.
\n41 The sun has one kind of glory while the moon and stars have another kind. And the stars differ from each other in their beauty and brightness.
\n42 In the same way, our earthly bodies which die and decay are different from the bodies we shall have when we come back to life again, for they will never die.
\n43 The bodies we have now embarrass us, for they become sick and die; but they will be full of glory when we come back to life again. Yes, they are weak, dying bodies now, but when we live again they will be full of strength.
\n44 They are just human bodies at death, but when they come back to life they will be superhuman bodies. For just as there are natural, human bodies, there are also supernatural, spiritual bodies.
\n45 The Scriptures tell us that the first man, Adam, was given a natural, human body[e] but Christ* is more* than that, for he was life-giving Spirit.
\n46 First, then, we have these human bodies, and later on God gives us spiritual, heavenly bodies.
\n47 Adam was made from the dust of the earth, but Christ came from heaven above.
\n48 Every human being has a body just like Adam\u2019s, made of dust, but all who become Christ\u2019s will have the same kind of body as his\u2014a body from heaven.
\n49 Just as each of us now has a body like Adam\u2019s, so we shall some day have a body like Christ\u2019s.
\n50 I tell you this, my brothers: an earthly body made of flesh and blood cannot get into God\u2019s Kingdom. These perishable bodies of ours are not the right kind to live forever.
\n51 But I am telling you this strange and wonderful secret: we shall not all die, but we shall all be given new bodies!
\n52 It will all happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For there will be a trumpet blast from the sky,[f] and all the Christians who have died will suddenly become alive, with new bodies that will never, never die; and then we who are still alive shall suddenly have new bodies too.
\n53 For our earthly bodies, the ones we have now that can die, must be transformed into heavenly bodies that cannot perish but will live forever.
\n54 When this happens, then at last this Scripture will come true\u2014\u201cDeath is swallowed up in victory.\u201d
\n55-56 O death, where then your victory? Where then your sting? For sin<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u2014the sting that causes death\u2014will all be gone;<\/strong><\/span> and the law, which reveals our sins, will no longer be our judge.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\n57 How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord!<\/p>\n
\n1 Corinthians 15:35-57
\n35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?<\/span>
\n36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened<\/strong><\/span><\/span>, except it die:
\n37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
\n38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him<\/span>,<\/strong><\/span> and to every seed his own body.
\n39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
\n40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
\n41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory<\/strong><\/span>.
\n42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption<\/strong><\/span>:
\n43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory<\/span><\/strong><\/span>: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power<\/span><\/strong><\/span>:
\n44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
\n45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
\n46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
\n47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
\n48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly<\/strong><\/span>.
\n49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly<\/strong><\/span>.
\n50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God<\/strong><\/span>; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
\n51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed<\/strong><\/span>,
\n52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed<\/strong><\/span>.
\n53 For this<\/span><\/strong><\/span> corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
\n54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
\n55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
\n56 The sting of death is sin<\/strong><\/span>; and the strength of sin is the law<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.
\n57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
\n26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, and said, Peace be unto you.
\n27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side<\/span><\/strong><\/span>: and be not faithless, but believing.<\/p>\n
\n12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
\n13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
\n14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, after that he was risen from the dead.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYes,\u201d Jesus said, \u201cI am. And in the future you will see me, the Messiah, sitting at the right hand of God and returning on the clouds of heaven.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut Stephen<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily upward into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at God\u2019s right hand.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
